team bows to strong competitors

The Canton
High School boys’ tennis team struggled last week, losing all
three of its matches: to Sharon, Oliver Ames and Franklin.
Coach Leo
Nelson noted that Farbod Pourvash stepped in at second doubles
and was “a great addition” to the team, with a very good
performance against Oliver Ames.
Nelson added
that Matt Wong, Brian Kodzis and Alek Fleket “continue to step
up for the team” at first, second and third singles. “They are
in three tough positions in a very competitive league,” he said,
“and are guaranteed a talented opponent every time they step on
the court.”
Canton had
its last match of the season on Monday and hoped to improve its
2-13 record with a win over Foxboro, a team the Bulldogs beat
3-2 earlier in the season.
