50/50 raffle
will benefit town's July 4th celebration
In order to
boost funding for the town’s annual July 4th celebration, the
Canton Recreation Department will be offering 50/50 raffle
tickets, which will be available through the Recreation
Department as well as many downtown businesses.
Tickets are
$5 each and the winning ticket will be drawn on July 4th just
prior to the fireworks display.
“Given the
difficult economy, sponsorship and donations have been very
light this year,” said Recreation Department Chairman Tim
Brooks. “Canton Recreation has been compelled to maximize its
available funds and intends to offer a terrific event for the
citizens of Canton in the true tradition of this event.”
Finalized
plans will soon be presented to the Board of Selectmen and
School Committee for approval.
If anyone
wishes to purchase raffle tickets or make a donation to the July
4th Celebration, please stop by the Recreation Department at 92
Pleasant Street or call 781-821-5030 for more information.
