Rocco places 4th in
all-state mile

The weather
was hot, but the times were fast and Canton High School senior
Alyse Rocco placed fourth in the MIAA All State Track and Field
Championships held at Durfee High in Fall River on June 7.
 With her
finish in the mile, she will continue on to the New England
Championships this Saturday, June 14.
Rocco’s time
was 5:04.7, very similar to her Class C winning time of 5:04.44.
Her best time in this event came in the winter season when she
placed second in New England with a time of 5:03.
The winning
time for the event was recorded by Kirsten Kasper, a junior from
North Andover who won the race at 4:59.45.
Placing
second was another junior, Bridget Dahlberg of Newton South who
ran 5:03.48, followed by sophomore Alanna Poretta of Pentucket
at 5:03.51.
Poretta
finished second to Rocco at the Class C Meet.
